Fees

For decades, credit unions had a reputation of not charging a variety of fees like other lending institutions. The cost of doing business in today’s economy has changed that practice for most credit unions in order to cover some expenses and stay competitive.

Here is an explanation of the fees we charge our members when it is necessary.

Fee Description Cost
Loan Application Fee Nonrefundable fee for a loan. $25.00
Membership Fee Charged when a new account is opened. This covers the cost of materials. $5.00
Late Payment Fee Applied to loan payments at 30 days late and continues every 30 days thereafter. $25.00
Modification Fee Paid by the member when a delinquent loan is re-aged to make the loan current. Fee based on the number of months delinquent. $10.00
NSF Fee Deducted from the member’s Share Account when a check bounces. $25.00
Refinance Fee Charged to a member when they refinance a loan that has been on the books less than 12 months. $10.00
Inactive Accounts Fee It is important to keep a Share Account active; this means at least one member-authorized transaction within a 12-month period. If more than 12 months. $10.00
Inactive Accounts Fee (cont.) If more than 24 months. $15.00
Vehicle Title Fee Borrower is assessed a fee for adding SNFCU as lienholder to the title of the financed vehicle. These proceeds are used to cover the costs incurred by the credit union. $40.00
Fee for the Early Closing of an Account This fee is charged to an individual who opens an account and closes same account within 90 days. $10.00
